Theology Rocks Show #33 - "Bible Colleges -- Are We Missing the Point?"

Do churches pass over the people God has planted in our congregations that could or should be ministering because they don't have a Bible College degree? Are we hiring people who have a Bible College degree who aren't called to be our ministers while we overlook gifted, qualified people who are already established to minister to our churches and communities?

I agree with the problem

I agree with the problem that churches restrict their growth by who they are willing to let through the first filter. We hired a new music/discipleship leader one year ago. We searched for quite a while for someone but ended up hiring out interim minister. He was just a member of our church that stepped up when someone was needed and he decided to accept that it should be permanent. He had a great job with Navajo or Yates or someone like that but gave it up for his church family and most importantly for God’s will. And you know what, he didn’t go to a Bible College, but he is great. We are missing the point. There is more than just a smart person, there are people with heart who can be invested in and made better.

Hey, where did that Grace Juice go, baby?
