I really don't like these forums

I am supremely dissatisfied with Drupal's basic forums module. It's not that there's anything wrong with it, it's just that I really don't like any of the forum software out there.

I am seriously considering, and praying about, shutting down the current forums and using the RealizationEgnine instead. I must confess that I'm very biased toward the RE for the very simple reason that I wrote it. But, I've also used it ("eating my own dog food") for family communication (extended family), business and hobby for the last 6 years.

I'm just wondering how much of an inconvenience a separate registration and login will be. There is really no good way to have a single registration and login for both this site and the RE at this time -- I just haven't put the work into it, yet.
