Who writes OpenDiscipleship?

The material made available through OpenDiscipleship.org is written by independent authors with a passion for "feeding Christ's sheep" with quality teaching material. The authors view their talents for writing and teaching as gifts from God, and desire to freely give the products of those talents to God's people.

Current authors:

Dan Parsons was raised an Urban Hillbilly. His parents were from the hills of Eastern Kentucky. However, he grew up in Detroit (thus the Urban Hillbilly classification.)

A 1976 graduate of Ozark Bible College in Joplin, MO, he has spent 35 years in the ministry in various positions and arguing with The Father most of the time. Dan resides in Roswell, NM with his wife and daughters.

Dan is the co-host and primary voice talent of our podcast, "Theology Rocks - truths to stand on".

Dan contributes a blog and has lots of work on file that he plans to contribute over time.


Jody Harris, born and raised in West Texas, is a man of many talents and interest. A graduate of Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX, he resides with his wife and two sons in Hagerman, NM.

He is the driving force behind Harris Development, an internet resource company. He is also the developer of the Realization Engine.

Jody is the co-host and tech talent of our podcast, "Theology Rocks - truths to stand on".
